It covers research on learning and education and is published by Taylor & Francis publishers. It was started in 1991 as by founding editor Janet L. Kolodner from the Georgia Institute of Technology. The current editors are Cindy E. Hmelo-Silver (Rutgers University) and Yasmin B. Kafai 'University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education). The founding editor emeritus is Janet L. Kolodner (Georgia Institute of Technology).
